Welcome to Imago
IMAGO is a professional befriending service (funded by the Public Health Agency). We offer structured 1-1 support on a weekly basis covering the Belfast area. The service is suitable for people with mild to moderate mental health issues and provides a unique client focused approach. Our aim is to build resilience through the use of self-help techniques. The support can extend from 3-6 months, depending on the individual needs.
What is on offer:
• 1-1 weekly befriending sessions;
• Goal focused practical support;
• Help getting out and about;
• A Listening ear;
• Confidence building & self-esteem
Clients also avail of group activities including: art and crafts eg Knit & Natter, personal development, men’s group etc.
Client Feedback: I couldn’t cope with being with people, I was terrified! It took me 6 months but it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I wish I’d done it sooner. A life-saver! Would recommend it!

Making a Referral to the Service
If you are a GP, CPN, Social Worker or other Mental Health Professional and you would like to refer a client/patient to the Befriending Service, please contact Heather for referral information on 02890872277.
If you feel you would benefit personally from the Imago Service, you may wish to self-refer, however, we will have to contact your GP before assessment.
